This is my version of the Pastrami Sandwich, perhaps the most popular sandwich in New York!
Pastrami is a kind of smoked and pickled meat originally from Romania. There it was usually made of sheep meat, but nowadays it is mainly prepared with beef. The difference with brine meat? With Pastrami, the herbs are clearly visible, while brine meat has a smoother appearance.
This sandwich really has everything: crispy, creamy, umami, crispy and seater instagrammable! The pastrami that I use is from Holstein cattle, cold served, slightly veined with fat and packed flavor.

Ingredients

What do you need?

Quantity: 2p

For the sandwich:
4 slices of brioche bread
120 g Pastrami, in thin slices
2 sweet and sour pickles
2 silver onions on vinegar
4 slices of cheddar cheese
1 bag of fries chips or chips of your choice

For the pickled red cabbage:
¼ small red cabbage, finely chopped
1 red onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp vinegar
1 KL sugar
1 tsp of salt

For the Kimchi mustard mayonnaise:
3 tbsp fresh mayonnaise
2 tbsp finely chopped kimchi
1 TL mustard

For the sandwich:

2 silver onions on vinegar
4 slices of cheddar cheese
1 bag of fries chips or chips of your choice

1 red onion, finely chopped

For the Kimchi mustard mayonnaise:
3 tbsp fresh mayonnaise
2 tbsp finely chopped kimchi
1 TL mustard

Preparation method

How do you make this?

Make pickled red cabbage
Cut the red cabbage and red onion paper thin with a mandolin or sharp knife.
Mix in a bowl with vinegar, sugar and salt. Leave on for at least 15 minutes.
Make a kimchi mustard mayonnaise
Mix the mayonnaise with the finely chopped kimchi and mustard.

Brioche Toasten
Roast the slices of brioche bread in a pan, toaster or oven until golden brown and crispy.

Sandwich
Spread one side of a slice of brioche bread with the kimchi mayonnaise.
Place a slice of Cheddar, followed by the pickled red cabbage, pastrami, fries chips and again a little kimchi mayonnaise.
Finish with a second slice of brioche bread and press firmly.

Serve
Cut the sandwich in half and put a skewer through it.
Finish it with a pickle and a silver outing on top of the skewer.

Serve immediately!
